Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'baseVal')

I am working with Leaflet 1.7.1 and sidebar-v2. When I add the sidebar following the example, I have the following error:

and the sidebar cannot function correctly, could anyone help me with this?

I was having identical errors to this - I switched to using leaflet-sidebar.js and leaflet-sidebar.css from this leaflet only repository https://github.com/noerw/leaflet-sidebar-v2 and the error went away.

I did also install jQuery and bootstrap as well, so if the error persists switching to this repository, perhaps consider installing them as well.
