Maybe change this:

$ python -m sphinx.apidoc -o docs mymodule

To:

$ python -m sphinx.ext.apidoc -o docs mymodule

Not to get:

RemovedInSphinx20Warning: sphinx.apidoc has moved to sphinx.ext.apidoc.
